Bachelors Degree

Experience:

Five years experience Developing/Coordinating educational programs in a Business and Industry and/or Educational setting.  Excellent computer skills required.  Experience with distance learning methodology preferred.

JOB SUMMARY:

Research, initiate, plan, organize, promote & deliver continuing education programs to the public, professional groups, and business & industry. The Program Coordinator is responsible for the development of new programs and courses that match the demand of constituents for the program area of Business, Industry and Technology(Computer Training).  The Program Coordinator will be involved with needs-assessment, program analysis/selection, program management, trends and research, new program development, and the procurement and negotiation with learning facilitators.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Works cooperatively with the Dean of Continuing Education to schedule, promote, supervise and evaluate courses and seminars offered.

Recruit, assign and evaluate Instructors who teach all programs offered.

Cooperate with and maintain relationships with IWCC personnel in related areas of programs produced by Continuing Education.

Arrange for procurement of materials, equipment and supplies necessary for classes and programs.

Initiate brochures and advertising by other media to insure public awareness by all individuals who may be interested in attending a program. Implement internet marketing strategies for promotion of programs.

Maintain and supervise the maintenance of course records and files.

Develop and maintain a budget.

Advise supervisor of problems, needs, changing formats of programs, and involvement with organizations.

Work with Industry experts to identify and develop short term career training programs.

Form partnerships with nonprofit agencies to identify and provide training opportunities to their clients.

Analyze effectiveness of continuing education program offerings by evaluating classes & instructors and obtaining public feedback.

Obtain certifications as necessary to coordinate and/or deliver special continuing education programs or services.

Participate in appropriate professional, work-related, community-based and college-based organizations.

Participate in internal/external skill enhancement and staff development activities related to job responsibilities &/or post-secondary education.

Work cooperatively with all appropriate personnel who can have a positive effect on the promotion and development of programs.

Maintain continuing client and student relationships by providing quality customer service.

Research new Continuing Education courses, programs and continuing professional education initiatives.  Conduct needs assessment, gather market research, and gather information from customers to determine programs offered.

Follow up on development of new programs, courses and initiatives.

Attend and participate in advisory board and professional organization meetings.

Initiate partnerships with vendors, businesses and other educational entities – research new and existing programs.

Increase the use of technology in Continuing Education programs, including assisting with the development and implementation of online course offerings in Continuing Education.

Research and market online training courses and programs.

Incorporate emerging technologies for distance learning programs and courses with emphasis on development and delivery of on line learning opportunities for business clients.
