What makes this program unique compared to other Early Childhood programs?
The Early Childhood Studies Certificate is designed for working childcare professionals who want to pursue an administrative career. Many schools offer early education programs, but Iowa Western has a lab school on campus in which our students get valuable hands-on experience working directly with children. Our lab school also has observation rooms designed to allow students to hear and see the children, while taking notes and discussing behaviors. The childcare facility on campus is nationally and state accredited, which is a difficult and rare thing to achieve.
Are Iowa Western credits transferrable?
Yes. In fact, this program is specifically designed to transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Because the majority of Iowa Western students intend to transfer, we offer a variety of resources for our transfer students. To begin your transfer planning early, visit Iowa Western's Transfer Planning web site.
Are scholarships available?
Iowa Western awards more than $1.5 million in scholarships each year. Visit our Scholarship Page for more information.
What are the admissions requirements?
All Iowa Western students are required to submit an Application for Admission, complete placement testing, and submit official copies of high school and college transcripts. For more information on admissions requirements, visit our Admissions page.
