Welcome to the Cass Country Center in Atlantic, Iowa
The Cass County Center has been a part of the Iowa Western community since 1966. The center moved to the current location at 705 Walnut in 2005 and serves Atlantic and the surrounding communities with a wide variety of programming. Credit, continuing education, business and industry, GED, and ELL (English Language Learner) classes offer a variety of education to all types of learners. Tutoring programs are also available.
Credit Classes
Iowa Western Community College’s Cass County Center offers a variety of college credit classes designed to meet the college’s general education requirements.
Continuing Education
Continuing Education at the Cass County Center in Atlantic offers community members the opportunity to gain knowledge in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. For example, students can take classes in art & crafts, computers, Cosmetology, ELL, GED, health, recreation, home & garden, management, personal development, taxes and youth. English Language Learners (ELL)
The Cass County Center in Atlantic offers special tutoring sessions for those individuals interested in learning the English language. These free classes, taught in English, are available for anyone of any nationality. Currently a class is being held at the center on Friday mornings 9-11 am in Room 151. GED
The Cass County Center in Atlantic offers GED instruction and testing to qualified individuals. A qualified instructor assesses each individual student to determine strengths and a starting level which results in an individualized instruction plan focused on the student’s needs. Iowa Western Community College offers GED testing in several Southwest Iowa locations.
GED class schedule:
Tuesday and Wednesday mornings 9 a.m. – 12 noon.
Thursday evenings 5:30– 7:30 p.m.
Note: Students must have instructor approval to test. When approved, testing is arranged with the examiner at mutual convenience.
