About Limited Practice Radiography
Credit: 11.0 CEUs for Iowa Nurses; 110 Contact Hours for Medical Assistants
Fee: $875 Includes tuition, manual, guide and worksheets.
Student will pay state testing fee and state application fee for Permit to Practice. Payment must accompany registration: Money order/credit card/exact cash amount only. No personal check accepted.
Textbooks: Call Bookstore (325-3231) for price after July 15th—separate payment to IWCC Bookstore. Do not add book fees to tuition. All books must be purchased at the bookstore at the first class session or will be delivered to class on first day.
Details:
- Student must be employed in a medical office or setting where clinical requirements can be satisfied.
- Completion of classroom materials and a satisfactory performance on course exams. 90% attendance required and 80% accumulative average on unit exams.
- Completion of a minimum of 8 hours of laboratory supervised by a qualified radiologic technologist or physician at your place of employment.
- Completion of a minimum of 5 clinical assessments completed by a licensed practitioner or radiologic technologist.
- A minimum of 20 film critiques and at least 10 for each procedure the student will be allowed to do upon completion of the course. These must be done by a radiologic technologist or radiologist.
- Completion of a Clinical Procedure Sheet with a minimum of 25 clinical procedures for each procedure the student will perform upon completion of the course.
Refund Policy:
• $50 fee for class withdrawal
• No refund for withdrawal of less than 24 hours before start of class
Limited Practice Radiography
This limited practice state approved course, which is required by law, is designed to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to safely administer ?limited? diagnostic radiographs in medical offices and clinics. Radiographic physics, principles of exposure, film processing, anatomy and positioning, radiation biology and protection are studied/discussed as well as practiced in the clinical setting of your place of employment. This course will be taught statewide via the Iowa Communication Network (ICN) system. Location to be announced, call 712/325-3344. This course is approved by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists. Fee $895
