Soil Quality Restoration & Composting- Intro to Rainscaping

Learn management practices to restore soil quality after development. Soil, when able to perform all of its functions, is important in regulating runoff of storm water and in supporting trees, shrubs, lawns and gardens.     Free

Course topics will include: Changing filters/fuses, annual checkup checklist, winterizing your house, how to run thermostat efficiently, caulking, preserving wood on a deck, cleaning gutters, electrical safety tips, fixing leaky toilets, clean and replace shower heads. Required course for anyone arrested for drinking and driving.   Fee $115

RECREATION
Taekwondo

Basic kicks and blocks as well as the rudiments of self-defense and competitive Taekwondo. Develop basic self-defense skills plus be prepardd to test for first belt level. For a belt level at the end of the sessions, an additional testing fee will be due at that time. Held at Petersen Family Wellness Center.

Cost: $49 Call for family rate.

Moped Safety

This program satisfies the Iowa Department of Transportation requirement for riders under age 16. Students must be 13 years of age by the class date. Student must provide birth date and social security number when registering. Bring lunch.     Fee $35
