Student Health Center
The IWCC Student Health Center is operated by the Council Bluffs Community Health Center (CBCHC) and is located in Ashley Hall across from the Student Center. The Health Center nurse sees students and IWCC employees.
The Student Health Center nurse performs initial triage assessment. The nurse will make referrals to physicians if need be.
There is no cost associated with seeing the nurse, however lab costs such as blood or urine testing, are additional. The clinic will accept most insurance plans or offer a sliding scale fee for those uninsured or underinsured.
The Student Health Center is open Monday - Thursday, from 10am to 2pm. You can also call the nurse at (712) 325-3351 or email at healthcenter@iwcc.edu for a confidential assessment.
Medical services are the responsibility of the student. Medical services are also available at local hospitals in Atlantic, Clarinda, Council Bluffs, Harlan, and Shenandoah.
Students are responsible for their own hospitalization or surgical services insurance since the College does not assume responsibility for injuries incurred by students when taking part in intramural sports, physical education courses or class, and student life activities.
