Introduction to Mindful Self-Compassion

What is mindful self-compassion? Join Dr. Annette Jordan for this introduction to Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), an empirically-supported training program designed to cultivate the skill of self-compassion. Self-compassion can be learned by anyone. It's a courageous attitude that stands up to harm, including the harm that we unwittingly inflict on ourselves through our inner critic. MSC teaches core principles and practices to enable emotional strength and resilience, allowing us to motivate ourselves with kindness, forgive ourselves when needed, relate wholeheartedly to others, and be more authentically ourselves. The class includes handouts and experiential practice to reinforce the material. Fee $85

Understanding Yourself, Understanding Others

In this class, you will learn about your personality, your natural tendencies, your priorities and your energy. You will also learn about reading others, your reaction to other styles and how to be more effective with other personalities. As a bonus, you will have access to MyEverythingDiSC.com for further learning and comparisons with others after class is complete. Handling Medical Emergencies

What would you do if a member of your family suffered a medical emergency? You could certainly call for trained emergency medical responders, but what would you do while you're waiting for them to arrive? This course will identify common medical emergencies affecting children and adults, help you recognize signs and symptoms, and teach you how to render appropriate emergency care. For adults, you will learn how to recognize and manage chest pain, heart attack, stroke, diabetic problems, seizures, breathing difficulty, burns, and allergic reactions.
